I just received one of the two emails I've been waiting for. My math professor just sent my grade for my final exam, as well as the grade for the overall class. Here's how the email went...

Final exam = 98.5% = A
Overall = 90.1% = A
Congratulations. You did it!

YAY!!!! I did what I really thought was the impossible! Right now I am so happy and proud of myself. Life is good.
This really sets the tone for my drive and determination for my college career. Thank you, God!
Just one more grade to get and I will know where I stand with my GPA.

One of the difficulties of being a teacher is having to evaluate the student product. No matter how hard a student works, it's the result that is graded. Many students walk in the door woefully unprepared for the course content -- and walk out 18 weeks later disappointed and blame the teacher for being too hard and/or unfair.
ReplyDeleteHappily, that is not your case. Yes, your GPA is intact, but more importantly, you can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the big girls on any campus and do yourself proud. You have set lofty goals for yourself, but you will achieve them, one course at a time.
Pleae, keep in contact. I'd be so up for a girls' movie and lunch some weekend -- perhaps including the other estrogen producers who helped to make your class such a rewarding semester of teaching. Let me know ...
